Hosting a Galentine’s Day Brunch

Galentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to gather your girlfriends and make a day of it. This year I hosted a brunch at home and kept it simple but fun. If you’re planning your own, here are a few things that worked well for me.

Decorations

Start with a clean space so you know what you’re working with. Lay out what you have before setting the table. That way everything matches and you’re not scrambling at the last minute. I went with pink for my brunch: pink tablecloth, napkins, plates, cups, and flowers for the table. You don’t need to buy much—just stick to one theme and add your own touch. The main goal is to make the space feel pulled together and welcoming.

The Menu

You can always order food, but I like to cook. For this brunch I kept things playful with heart-shaped potatoes, pink waffles, bacon, and a kale Caesar. For dessert I made a heart-shaped fruit plate and a small sweets tower. Drinks were easy with a mimosa bar using watermelon, cranberry, and grapefruit juice. A few small details like this make the whole thing feel more personal.

Setting the Mood

Even in the middle of the day, candles help set the tone. Music is just as important. I made a playlist you can find here, mixed with a few classic love songs. It gave the brunch good energy without feeling too serious.

The Best Part

At the end of the day, it’s about spending time together. Getting dressed up, eating good food, and enjoying each other’s company is what makes it worth it. Valentine’s Day can feel heavy with expectations but Galentine’s Day is lighter. It’s just a chance to celebrate your friends.
